The only thing that looks a bit strange to me is "final" and "override" being on C++98 territory?

If function does not use this pointer shouldn't it be static? I really don't see any problem in calling such function with zero pointer. Can you describe "hard-to-find" bug scenario?

Another one good book is "Blogging Heroes Interviews with 30 of the World’s Top Bloggers". It is a collection of stories about various startaps discussed by its own founders.
For example it contains history of Gizmodo, LifeHacker, Ars Technica etc.
